Additional Information
Over the years some of the most common concerns from NP students and recent graduates is not enough orthopedics, radiology, and suturing. This intensive one day workshop is designed to help fill the voids left by these programs. The course will cover introduction to basic radiology and common degenerative and minor fracture pathology. Discussion about the use of advanced imaging will also be included. Review of basic interrupted, vertical and horizontal mattress, and subcuticular suturing will be reviewed and practiced using pig feet. Lastly, presentation on general office based orthopedics covering the specialized test to help the primary care provider know when to refer or treat as well as whether advanced imaging should be obtained. These topics will be covered from a real world standpoint and cover topics seen in most ambulatory settings.
