Karin has invested nearly 40 years in the nursing profession, with over 5 years spent practicing as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in Joplin, MO. Originally from Mark Twain's boyhood home of Hannibal, MO, she has intentionally integrated wellness and holistic health in diverse roles of education and practice to improve outcomes for clients and students in several Midwestern settings. When not at work, you can find her traveling (somewhere with a beach), listening to live music or enjoying the outdoors. She speaks frequently on the topic of mindfulness and this was the topic of her DNP research project at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she is also and adjunct faculty.
