Legislative Update and Call for Nominations

Posted about 1 year ago by Aleisha Breen

Please see the full legislative update on left under Legislative Updates 2018.

The second half of the legislative session will no doubt be filled with a LOT of activity in a short window of time. We expect to see HB 1574 (Rep. Rowland’s collaborating ratio change) receive attention (as it’s currently 9 down on the Perfection calendar) and we are pushing for a vote on Rep. Kelly’s HB 1502 (transition to practice bill) when lawmakers return. Things will happen quickly and without notice in the last half, so we encourage you to be ready to engage. If you are available at all, please consider attending AMNP’s Advocacy Day slated for April 18th. This is YOUR opportunity to make sure YOUR voice is heard in the halls of the Capitol and we would be delighted to have a strong showing of NP’s speaking up with one voice for your patients and profession. To get signed up, please visit

Due to Spring Break next week, there will not be a legislative update. Please take the time to look and see if your elected officials have any upcoming events in your area this week that you may be able to attend to inquire about APRN issues and provide your perspective. Many will use the week to connect with constituents and this is your opportunity to do your part to help #MakeMONPFriendly

On another note, nominations are now open for AMNP board positions. We are looking for individuals who want to be more involved with the organization. If you would like to nominate someone you think would be good on the board click on CALL FOR NOMINATIONS on left.
