Announcement of Cancellations - Please Read
Posted over 5 years ago by Derek Leffert
As the coronavirus situation continues to unfold, we know that many of you are on the front lines of providing care throughout these difficult times. The challenges that we face will no doubt be significant, but your contributions to your patients and communities will help our local, state, and national community rise to the challenges and emerge stronger and better prepared than ever before.
With uncertainty lingering and local, state, and federal directives calling for the reduction or cancellation of large gatherings, AMNP must unfortunately postpone all scheduled events for the immediate future. Although it pains us to do so, as a health care organization we feel that it is a prudent step until such time as we turn the corner on the spread of the disease.
The following AMNP events will be postponed, with a reschedule date to be determined:
POSTPONED EVENTS
- March 19th Kansas City Meet & Greet
- March 24th St. Louis Meet & Greet
- March 28th Advanced Diagnostic Course – Kansas City – Will be rescheduled at a date to be determined.
- April 8th Advocacy Day – House and Senate leaders have requested groups avoid visiting the Capitol
Much advice has already been given about how to mitigate the rate of infection. As advanced practice providers, you are well aware of the steps you should take and the counsel you should provide to your patients. For those looking for additional resources, we invite you to visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
Additionally, as mentioned in previous correspondence, AMNP is seeking a waiver of all laws and regulations that inhibit access to care provided by nurse practitioners. We have called on the governor and director of the Department of Health to suspend laws and regulations and will be preparing counsel and directives for our members if this comes to fruition. We know that you stand ready and willing to help, but unnecessary red tape prevents you from serving in certain circumstances.
As we deal with this crisis in our state and nation, we stand with you and will advocate to give you whatever tools you need to do what you are trained and educated to do. If we can be a resource to you or of service in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Our most sincere apologies for the cancellations. We are eager to return to a normal schedule serving you as soon as possible and appreciate your patience as we battle this together.
Regards,
