GEOGRAPHIC MILEAGE DISCUSSION - BON/BOHA JOINT MEETING - COMMENTS NEEDED BY 3/21 @ 5PM

Posted about 2 years ago by Derek Leffert

On Monday, March 28th at 7PM, the Missouri Board of Nursing and Board of Healing Arts will hold a joint meeting to discuss the geographic proximity requirement in collaborative practice agreements. This meeting is being held in response to Gov. Parson's instruction to the Board of Healing Arts to re-examine the issue specific to correctional institutions and the challenges that the mileage requirement imposes for APRNs in the state's prison system.

As a result of this meeting, the board will be accepting written comments until the close of business on Monday, March 21st. Comments on the unnecessary mileage rule and how it affects you and your patients can be submitted to BON Executive Director Lori Scheidt at lori.scheidt@pr.mo.gov as well as healingarts@pr.mo.gov

We encourage you to submit your comments as soon as possible for inclusion in the record and to demonstrate the burden that these arcane rules are placing on APRNs and your patients.

Thank you in advance for your time. Please feel free to reach out to us at nursepractitioners@missourinp.org with any questions.

I have emailed both Lori and the healing Arts Board with my testimony. I am a PMHNP in the correctional facility and this greatly impacts my position.
