FULL PRACTICE AUTHORITY BILL COMMITTEE HEARING - TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH @ 4:30PM

Posted about 1 year ago by Derek Leffert

HB 271, the comprehensive full practice authority bill filed by Rep. Alex Riley has been scheduled for a hearing next Tuesday, February 7th at 4:30PM.

This bill eliminates all barriers to practice and the requirement to have a permission slip from a collaborating physician and is the top priority for AMNP and other nursing groups in the 2023 legislative session.

To help ensure that the NP voice is heard, we invite anyone who is able to attend the hearing on Tuesday to come and testify in favor of the legislation. There will be an impressive list of compelling witnesses that plan to testify in favor of the legislation, but hearing directly from constituents is always helpful. If you are unable to attend in person, we encourage you to submit written testimony in favor of the bill by emailing your testimony to us at nursepractitioners@missourinp.org and we will submit the testimony on your behalf.

The early hearing on this bill is a HUGE step in the right direction and we invite you to join along with us as we fight to remove these onerous restrictions for Missouri's NPs.

In addition to the hearing on HB 271, HB 330 (an APRN licensure bill filed by Rep. Bennie Cook) will be heard immediately afterward. We encourage your support and testimony on that measure as well.

If you plan to attend in person, feel free to reach out and let us know by email at nursepractitioners@missourinp.org

Hope to hear from ALL of you that support full practice.

This bill is exciting. I appreciate all your efforts to support and promote full practice authority for NP in Missouri.
